Rescued Aliens: Bogey and Hawk-bat

You can never have too many aliens. At least, that’s what the designers of Alien Anthology believe. Once they put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard), they just couldn’t stop, and before long, they had more aliens than they could fit into the Anthology. Some of them, sadly, had to go – but they didn’t go far. In fact, we’ve got two of them for you right here!

Presenting the first in a series of four special articles featuring material that just couldn’t be crammed into Alien Anthology. In this installment, we give you the bogey and the hawk-bat. Lire la suite

Mood Swings

Thernbees are massive predators native to Almania, a planet in the Almania system in the Outer Rim. They exhibit catlike qualities, although their prehensile tails and anesthetic bite distance them from other feline-related creatures around the galaxy. They are social, curious creatures. However playful their behavior may appear, though, they are still predators and can be dangerous, especially in the presence of the dark side. Lire la suite

Lyran Bloodslug

ADJ_023_LyranBloodslugVoici une Aide de Jeu publiée par Wizards of the Coast sur son site internet au moment de la sortie des suppléments « Starships of the Galaxy » et « Alien Anthology » :

As an abundant farming world on the fringe of the Outer Rim, Lyran IV is known for its rolling plains, feudal government, and agricultural exports. Unfortunately, throughout the Rise of the Empire era, a small but virulent infestation of criminals has repeatedly exploited this sleepy backwater planet, gradually transforming it into a smuggler’s paradise. By investing heavily in the local agricultural communities, and making a steady but marginal profit on agricultural sales, they’ve built an unassuming cover for their smuggling operations. Kilian Bantha

Kilian banthas are large quadruped mammals found on Kilia IV. They are clearly related to the species of bantha found throughout the galaxy. They grow as tall as 3 meters at the shoulder, and long, thick fur hangs straight down from their bodies. Banthas have broad faces with wide mouths and small eyes beneath beetled brows. Their bellows, particularly those of the males, are deep and loud. Males have curling horns at the tops of their heads. Lire la suite

Cularin Space Slug

The very rare space slugs of the Cularin system are gigantic, wormlike creatures that can grow up to 900 meters long, fully capable of swallowing an entire starship. These silicon-based life forms can survive in the vacuum of space. They nest in hollows and caves in large asteroids, feeding on the minerals in them, which gives them their grayish, stonelike hide. The interior of a space slug has its own atmosphere and pressure, and it is possible to move around within such a creature with just a breathing mask. Space slugs often exist in symbiosis with flocks of mynocks that live inside them, scavenging off the minerals the slug consumes. Such creatures live in the forward section of the slug, avoiding the digestive organs farther back. A space slug is fairly vulnerable to attacks from within it, gaining only 5 points of damage reduction against such attacks. Lire la suite

The Swamp Womp Rat

Womp rats are quadrupeds with short fur, whiplike tails, sharp teeth, and claws. The best known variety is the desert womp rat, native to the desert planet Tatooine, but other varieties have been found throughout many worlds. The desert variety sports light tan or yellow fur to blend into its surroundings. By contrast, the swamp variety, found in the marshes and bogs of Cularin, has dark, muddy brown fur, along with a set of whiskers for sensing movement in water. Lire la suite

Devaronians

Blackstalkers are a mutant offshoot of garrals — genetically engineered guard animals created by the Empire to supplement human security troops (see the sidebar for more information). Like garrals, blackstalkers are quadrupedal predators with long claws, powerful fanged jaws, and a tail. But that’s where the similarities end. The body of a blackstalker is hairless and covered with an armored black hide. This hide is actually composed of thousands of tiny scales and is capable of deflecting light blaster fire. Worse, blackstalkers have a primitive form of Force power, allowing them to sneak up on the most alert of targets and draw on remarkable combat skills. It’s not known how or why the creatures developed these Force abilities, and no efforts to duplicate the effect in other species have succeeded. Lire la suite

Galactic Gazetteer – Hoth and the Greater Javin

Quick locations
